Following well published instances of misconduct within the financial services industry including LIBOR and mis-selling scandals, 1LoD was founded in 2017 by two financial services industry experts, Paul Hodge and John Baskott, on a mission to address cultural failings within the industry. Their goal was to restore the integrity of the industry by connecting risk and control practitioners through the highest quality events and information. During a period which has seen immense increase in non-financial risk spending, 1LoD has become the leading events company in the field attracting senior leaders from all major institutions globally. Designed by practitioners for practitioners, 1LoD has facilitated debate on best practice between thought leaders including regulators, financial services professionals and FinTech firms globally, helping to shape the future of the industry. 1LoD is synonymous with industry best practice and has firmly established itself as the “go to” event provider for industry professionals.
At Audience, we’re not afraid of growth, we embrace it. Our standout projects include showcasing Virgin Media (VM) as the industry leaders in broadband speed services in a world-record breaking event, delivering a world-first OOH 4D billboard experience with VM and enhancing innovation in the Deloitte Shared Services Conference (SSC) for our fourth returning year.
By championing what matters most, our people, we’ve secured a 99.6% retention rate and headcount increase of 33%. With a happy workforce, we’ve seen incredible adoption of our bespoke innovation model (designed in 2022), our new processes and software that encourage unique yet grounded design.
Going forward, we’ll maintain the momentum, aiming to continue soaring above and beyond the industry norm. Emap Publishing Ltd is an events and subscriptions business with a vision to create long-term profitable futures for the fantastic range of B2B brands. Hosting a whole range of events from conferences to awards, to careers fairs, meetups and festivals such as the World Architecture Festival (WAF), emap Publishing delivers over 110 events per annum. Plus bespoke event solutions such as webinars, round tables, briefings, bitesize learning products and virtual events.
Serving communities across construction, healthcare, fashion, retail, motoring, finance and food and drink to name just a few, emap Publishing’s awards and conferences are market leaders and form a significant part of today’s business, having transformed from a publishing company to a multi-platform business with branded events as it core.
Now 21 years old, First Event, based in Yorkshire, is taking the industry by storm. In 2021 we became employee-owned, meaning every employee is also a shareholder. Our whole 68-strong team has a stake in providing clients with the very best experiences.
In the last year, we have grown our turnover by 175%, from £8 million in 2021 to £22 million in 2022. We’ve grown our workforce by 50%, from 46 in 2021 to 68 in 2022. And we’ve grown our customer base from 42 active clients at the end of 2019 to 117 active clients at the end of 2022.
But it’s not just about the numbers. We’re investing in innovation, creating dedicated web, app and client services teams to provide a more complete service. We’ve invested in an in-house production studio, facilitating high-quality virtual and hybrid events. And we’ve put sustainability at the heart of all we do, with dedicated sustainability experts on every project team from day on and reporting the carbon footprint of every event we create.
We ’ve also developed an in-house training platform, to ensure that every area of our agency is growing and progressing and that First Event is always future-ready.

Healthcare Conferences UK Ltd provides national CPD conferences and masterclasses for healthcare professionals and managers, to support development in their role and in the care they and their services provide. We are passionate about improving quality in health and social care. We look for outstanding and new practice and drive forward improvements through the sharing of good practice at our events. Our ultimate goal is that the learning from our events will improve patient care, safety and outcomes.
Kisaco Research works with the early adopters and leaders of niche, growth markets to drive their respective industries forward. The company was founded in 2015 and between 2021 and 2022, the workforce has grown 125% from 48 to 110 employees. Public Sector Network (PSN) is a social learning platform that exists to help governments globally break down silos, collaborate, and work together for better outcomes for citizens. Our mission is to give public sector professionals a single place to unite, share ideas, and get free, unlimited access to the latest information about critical topics transforming the government landscape.
Our government-only network allows members free access to various insightful events, including conferences and exhibitions, roadshows, intimate training courses, online webinars and hybrid events across major cities worldwide. As a certified B Corporation, we balance purpose with profit and maintain the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability.
