De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms – Conference & Banqueting Team
Standing on Great Queen Street, which connects Covent Garden with Holborn in the West End of London, is the Grade II* listed De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms. With a history dating back to 1775, the building has long been an important event venue, and was once home to the original Freemasons’ Tavern before becoming a hotel in 1909. Since then, the venue has hosted some of the world‘s leading politicians, royalty and celebrities with its grand Georgian architecture and art-deco interiors offering 37 exceptional spaces for a wide range of conferences, exhibitions, meetings, training and weddings.
Glaziers Hall
With seven unique spaces, each with its own charm, the venue offers so much choice for customers. With that comes a challenge: finding the right room or combination of spaces for each event.
Calling upon experience, the team are on hand to provide recommendations based on previous functions and an unrivalled understanding of the venue, its capacity and flow.
As an example, when less than 48-hours before a national press conference to announce a high profile boxing event, to be syndicated with news outlets around the world, the team developed a plan that would provide changing rooms, private interview space, press red carpet and theatre style conference space for media questions and official photographs.
A walk through was arranged for both contenders and their teams ahead of the event and the stage was set. Security was essential, with confirmed attendance only and no public spectators or unofficial guests permitted. The event was a resounding success, resulting in the Hall being recognized as a perfect venue for press events.
Although this wouldn’t be the obvious use for an historic Livery venue, it’s the attention to detail and professional insight of the team that makes Glaziers Hall so appealing to clients.
