2019 was a massive year for Manchester-based events agency HGA. They celebrated their milestone 30th birthday as well as ten years with long-standing clients Brakes and The Very Group. They also won more new clients than ever before, including an epic eight-day conference for chemical giant BASF and an exclusive two-year contract with The Financial Conduct Authority.
HGA’s passionate team of Event Producers, AV Technicians, Digital Developers, Designers and Video Producers all work together under one roof to create the very best events in the UK. With the skills, resources and imagination to deliver everything in-house, in the last three months alone they designed and built a two-storey stage set for a conference, a cocktail-making app for a gala dinner and a full-scale working barn for an exhibition – to name just a few!
Having invested heavily in their infrastructure this year, they have grown the small team from 20 to 27 with a series of brand-new roles and expanded the warehouse facilities with state-of-the-art equipment. This is just the start of big things to come for HGA!

NUFFIELD HEALTH BUSINESS LEADERS: The brief: To Create an Engaging Conference Event. As with all events, one of the key elements is the venue and sourcing the perfect space to engage with delegates is crucial. Ricoh Arena was our chosen option for this event, offering discounted train fares with Virgin Trains, complimentary car parking and a completely flexible approach to our requirements: Held twice per year; 350-600 senior business leaders per event; Venue: Ricoh Arena, Coventry; Full event design and production; Accommodation booking service; Bespoke AV stage set; 25 Event Crew. Alongside the main conference we also hosted a trade show area featuring different departments from within Nuffield Health, which served as an informal networking and information point for delegates. There was also a short fashion show feature! Seventa Events provided full management AV service for this conference, which including flying LED screens in the main conference space and both pre and on-site presentation support.

In the last 12 months, we delivered a record 480 projects in 25 countries across 5 continents.
All Top 10 clients were retained and contributed to circa £8m increase in t/o and new clients won include EE, UEFA, Formula E, Rolls Royce Aerospace resulting in a £5m t/o boost.

We aim to be the most sustainable creative agency and launched a 10 year plan for achieving 2030 targets of net zero GHG emissions internally and to reduce the impact of our events by a minimum of 30%.
Development of the wellbeing of our great team included an evolved training plan with increased investment, supporting International Woman’s Day and their campaign #BalanceForBetter. We recruited 51 new roles since Jan 2019 as well as making 9 internal promotions.

XSEM was founded in 2004 by Dan Bardgett and Michael Gwilliam. The pair met while working for a golf representation agency and soon decided to open their own agency. They subsequently established XSEM, initially specialising in high-end, bespoke sports hospitality and golf events.
Over the past 15 years we have expanded our offering in order to become a full service, creative experiences agency, specialising in marketing, live and rewards.
