AUDIENCE – DELOITTE SHARED SERVICES CONFERENCE 2019
The Deloitte Shared Services Conference is now widely recognised as the biggest and highest quality shared services conference in Europe and offers you the best opportunities to catch up with key peers.
The 2019 conference took place in Dublin, Ireland. Over the last 21 years the conference has built up the reputation of being the largest and most insightful event of its kind in the market. It’s a ”must attend” event for leading CFOs, Financial Controllers, Global Business Services Leaders, Shared Services Heads, BPO Contract Managers, CIOs and HR leaders responsible for Shared Services Strategies.
B2B MARKETING – B2B MARKETING IGNITE LONDON
B2B Marketing ran the highly successful event The B2B Summit. It grew to a 350-delegate event held in London attracting a predominantly UK audience. However, in growth terms, it had hit a ceiling.
After months of research, it became clear what was needed, but the investment and stakes were high.
The cost would be 300% more to deliver the event the industry needed. An exceptional venue was vital. As a result, a 5-year plan was created.
This was done by having the liberty to try new ideas (some that failed). Also by having the trust of the board to support the vision to scale the event, even with aninitial loss. Within 4 years, not 5 the event has achieved a 170% profit increase, launched in the USA and is tipped to go global.
BIOSCIENTIFICA – SOCIETY FOR ENDOCRINOLOGY BES2019
Bioscientifica manages the annual Society for Endocrinology (SfE) BES Conference that brings together a global community of scientists, clinicians and nurses working with hormones. SfE BES2019 was held at the Brighton Centre, Brighton from 11-13th November 2019.
BES2019’s objectives were to break even financially, grow the number of delegates, increase engagement with delegates and sponsors, and reverse the decline in the number of abstract submissions, as well as launching a new streamlined programme.
Results against objectives were
• The number of abstracts increased by 35%, the highest number since 2015;
• Delegates grew by 17%;
• Early Bird bookings increased by 244%;
• Income exceeded target significantly with an uplift of 22% on 2018;
• 97% of delegates would recommend BES “The only UK meeting that consistently meets my objectives”:
Our concern was with significant changes to the programme, combined with a logistically difficult venue, that BES could have fallen back in terms of success. However the result was one of the most successful SfE BES conferences in the Society’s history in terms of delegate engagement and feedback, numbers of attendees, abstracts and income, providing the Society with a strong platform for the future of BES in the years ahead.
DRPG – BT CONSUMER LIVE 2019
DRPG were once again appointed to deliver Consumer Live for 2019 – the biggest face-to-face opportunity to bring together their three Consumer brands (BT Consumer, EE and Plusnet) to share stories, get hands-on and hear updates on performance and growth as well as meeting the new Group CEO.
For DRPG, the priority was keeping it fresh, finding new ways to engage the audience whilst building on all the good of the previous years and engagement scores of 90% upwards. Hosting 7,000 colleagues across two days, the exhibition space grew by 38% from the previous year, incorporating new personalised features and even more partners and exhibitions. The two-day event successfully supported the leadership team in delivering their messages and engaging their frontline colleagues and building excitement for the future.
HAYMARKET MEDIA GROUP LTD – MIMS LEARNING LIVE
Our ambition for MIMS Learning Live was to be bigger, better and bolder. We wanted to significantly increase our delegate registrations. This was particularly challenging in the GP market, where most GPs are self-employed and will need to employ locum cover at £600 per day in order to take time from their patients to attend the conference. As a result of the changes we made in 2019 the total number of registrations actually grew by 36% to over 1,500. YOY the number of exhibitors doubled and due to the volume of delegates we attracted new exhibitors from the service industry as well as pharmaceutical sectors.
MIMS Learning Live South was a resounding success and received positive feedback from delegates, exhibitors and speakers alike.
IFS – IFS WORLD CONFERENCE 2019

WILMINGTON HEALTHCARE – HSJ PATIENT SAFETY CONGRESS
Patient Safety Congress (PSC) celebrated its 12th year in 2019 and brought together over 1000 people from across healthcare with the shared aim of transforming patient safety.
Held at Manchester Central over two days, the Congress’ unique value proposition is the bringing together of patient speakers with national and international experts and frontline innovators to deliver tangible solutions that attendees can take back to improve care in their organisation.
As the audience is predominately NHS, it is crucial to ensure that attendees’ time spent away from caring for patients is truly beneficial. In 2016 and 2017, the event received feedback that it was not fulfilling the needs of delegates.
The team worked hard and implemented several new initiatives that helped to pull the Congress out of the bottom of the curve, ultimately making PSC 2019 the most successful Congress. This was demonstrated by an NPS of +56, 94% of attendees leaving with at least one idea to implement in their organisation and 97% meeting their main objective in attending.
The success and hard work of 2019 has put the team in a strong position for 2020, the satisfaction has translated into tracking consistently ahead of delegate and sponsorship targets.
