THE ASSOCIATION OF CORPORATE TREASURERS – ACT MIDDLE EAST TREASURY SUMMIT
After a record-breaking eleventh event in 2019, the ACT Middle East Treasury Summit cemented its role as the principal conference in the region for corporate treasury.
The 2019 Summit was themed to “regional insights, global perspectives”. Creating the perfect blend of local intelligence from those in the region and global perspectives from our pool of international speakers, the event gave attendees a comprehensive picture of what’s happening in the treasury world. The Summit featured a mix of strategic keynote, operational track sessions, hands on workshops and a bustling exhibition, managed seamlessly by the event team over two days.
Our figures reflect the event’s continuous growth, success and achievements:

ASSOCIATION FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT (APM) – APM WOMEN IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE 2019
The Association for Project Management (APM) Women in Project Management (WiPM) Conference is the only event of its kind in the UK. We give women in the profession a safe and open space to talk about new ideas, share experiences and learn new skills. The conference started as a volunteer-run event, organised by APM’s WiPM Specific Interest Group. It grew in popularity and in 2016, became an official APM event. Since then, it has grown exponentially to become one of APM’s largest and most popular conferences.
In 2019, it came into its own – bigger, better and with more features than ever before. The WiPM conference 2019 broke all previous records with a 23% increase in revenue and an 18% increase in attendees from the previous year. We improved on content too; 93% of delegates felt the quality of speakers was good or excellent.
Delegate experience is an important factor to us and this year surpassed expectations with 95% of attendees saying the conference had had a positive effect on their perception of APM.
One delegate summed it up: “WiPM shows what a vibrant and innovative profession project management can be.”

In a year where the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) were forced to change the dates of the annual conference from the first week of October to the third week – meaning the event would take place during school half term holidays – delegate numbers were the highest ever, and social engagement and delegate satisfaction beat all records. And, to add to that, commercial revenues were the highest ever.
INSTITUTE OF CERTIFIED BOOKKEEPERS – BOOKKEEPERS SUMMIT
The Bookkeepers Summit originated in 2009 and celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2019! A two-day conference for ICB members, it provides industry insights, regulatory updates, thought leadership and a great sense of community.
We work exceptionally hard to acquire the best speakers and content, ensuring that our members receive everything they need and more. One of our community’s largest software suppliers, Xero, has supported the Summit every year and its MD, Gary Turner, states, ‘this is the only community event that Xero goes to’. Our delegates are super passionate, and this is the only event of its scale dedicated to our profession.
MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT – MACMILLAN PROFESSIONALS CONFERENCE AND EXCELLENCE AWARDS
Macmillan’s Professionals Conference is designed for Macmillan professionals on the front line of delivering cancer support, including Information and Support professionals, nurses, social workers and more. With limited places and only open to Macmillan professionals, this ‘once in a career’ opportunity aimed to reach new audiences in 2019. We also shifted our focus to maximise audience showcasing around the theme of person-centred care.
Grounded in thorough research using evaluation feedback and consultation with key stakeholders, we developed a programme with new concepts for the exhibition, posters and networking while maintaining popular elements.
The conference surpassed all expectations: with over 440 attendees, a 25% increase in new attendees, 100% audience satisfaction, and generated positive engagement with sponsors. It was oversubscribed by 50% due to the marketing strategy and application process. Delegate interaction was enabled through a dedicated event app used by 93% of the audience.
With 42% of sessions delivered by delegates in a variety of formats, and a glittering awards ceremony hosted by Larry Lamb, the fresh new take on the conference in 2019 reinforced its place as the flagship conference for Macmillan professionals. As a delegate commented, the most prominent feeling through the conference was “being part of Macmillan”.
NATIONAL HOUSING FEDERATION – HOUSING FINANCE CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
Our ambition for our Housing Finance Conference and Exhibition was to actively support and strengthen the housing sector, giving the finance function the tools and knowledge to drive progress and innovation.
We developed a steering group formed of leaders in the realm of housing to ensure our event was created for the sector, by the sector.
We planned for the event to undergo a great transformation, and essentially, we took a great leap forward in the type of content and formats we delivered to delegates, addressing challenges that are unique to the finance and treasury functions and giving them plenty of opportunities to exchange, benchmark and learn.
The Housing Finance conference and exhibition delivered on all its key success measures, with an outstanding 99.25% audience satisfaction, greatly increased sponsorship, exhibition income and delegate sales. With 100+ speakers across a huge range of session formats and 810 delegates onsite, 2019 was the most successful since 2015.

MCI EVENT MANAGEMENT SERVICES– ONE YOUNG WORLD SUMMIT 2019 LONDON
In 2019, One Young World held the most international event since the London 2012 Olympics! The annual One Young World (OYW) Summit convened the brightest young talent from every country and sector, working to accelerate social impact and tackle pressing issues such as poverty alleviation, climate change and access to education.
In attendance at the Summit were prominent global figures and members of the international community, including the Duchess of Sussex, Sir Richard Branson, Ellie Goulding and Professor Muhammad Yunus.
MCI UK and MCI The Netherlands were proud to collaborate with Private Drama Events to deliver One Young World’s 10th Anniversary Summit, which brought together more than 2000 bright young leaders from 190+ countries to develop solutions to the world’s most pressing issues.
MCI’s teams from the UK and Netherlands provided full event management services, from volunteer, transportation and exhibition management to producing the programme at the QEII Centre across three stages. Private Drama Events were the creative partner and producer of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, along with the main plenary conference sessions at the Central Hall Westminster.
