National Housing Federation – National Housing Summit
The ambition for the revamped National Housing Summit was to establish it as the most important event for senior leaders in the housing sector, leading the political agenda and shaping the direction of the sector. Moving away from the traditional conference and exhibition format, we wanted to deliver a vibrant, dynamic, destination event.
Following an exhaustive research and development process, collaborating with our members, sponsors and colleagues every step of the way, we put together a brand new event, incorporating all the popular elements of previous years whilst introducing a number of new and exciting twists.
The Summit delivered on all its key success measures, with improved audience satisfaction, greatly increased sponsorship income and significant national media coverage. With 150+ speakers (including the Prime Minister) across a huge range of session formats, 1000 delegates took part in a conference unlike any the housing sector has seen before, establishing it as the key conference in the sector’s calendar. In the words of one attendee “the Summit is the key event in the sector’s calendar – 2018 was a vintage year!”
Royal College of General Practitioners – RCGPcare Conference
Every day in surgeries across the UK, over one million patients visit a GP surgery. GPs are the only doctors in the NHS who have the skills and expertise to care for the ‘whole person’, and the only doctors in the NHS who have the opportunity and the privilege to build up lifelong relationships with their patients. But being a GP can also be incredibly stressful and pressurised and that’s why RCGP, as the body representing GPs, recognise the importance of helping our members look after their own health and wellbeing The idea for a RCGPcare conference came from a member/GP led Wellbeing working group and the agenda was entirely focused on self-care and sharing self-care.The event was free to attend and attracted x delegates representing GPs at all stages in their career. Most of the sessions held during the day were led by GPs on topics such as the importance of sleep, nutrition, mindfulness, yoga and positive habit forming with a focus on giving GPs insight into their own self-care but also to encourage them to share information and tips to use in consultation with their patients.
Royal College of Physicians – Meetings & Events
The Royal College of Physicians Meetings and Events team were tasked with creating and designing an exceptional event to celebrate the college’s 500th anniversary. The event needed to fit within a tight budget and showcase the venue to key prospects and entertain top clients. Coming up with an event for such a landmark anniversary was no mean feat. Together the RCP team collaborated to create the RCP 500 Years of Summer Festival held in the venue’s medicinal garden with street food stalls and fabulous entertainment. The event took guests travelling through time, igniting their senses and sampling five centuries of gastronomic delights and new world cuisine, whilst getting hands on with the foodie experts and finding out how Physicians have been at the heart of many historical developments. With so many facets to pull together and a full programme of activities, the dynamic Meetings & Events team pulled out all the stops to create a truly spectacular and memorable occasion.

The Cura Foundation – Unite To Cure, the 4th International Vatican Conference
Cura approached Allison+Partners in 2017 and asked the agency to join it on an extraordinary mission: to rally the world around the potential of this new category of medicine to vanquish disease and reduce global suffering. To accomplish this goal, Cura wanted Allison+Partners to help up-level its bi-annual Unite To Cure event at the Vatican so it stands as one of the most high-profile, impactful thought leadership events in the world. The three-day conference, which was held from April 26-28, 2018 within the Vatican Amphitheatre in Italy, reached more than 3 billion people around the world, introducing them to an entire new approach to medicine and changing perceptions, through videos, social media posts and traditional media. Furthermore, the event and our communications efforts, highlighted a key idea: that science and faith are not opposed to one another, but that, in fact, they can co-exist and inspire one another.
The Institution of Mechanical Engineers – The 13th International Conference on Turbochargers and Turbocharging
Through close working with the technical programme committee, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers’ Events team took the 40-year-old International Conference on Turbochargers and Turbocharging (“Turbo”) to bold new heights and a world of firsts.
Focusing on innovation in a niche but significant sector of the beleaguered automotive and marine industries, the event well and truly bucked the trend, delivering excellent growth and a markedly improved customer experience.
By applying commercial events industry rigour and innovation, the Events team grew sponsorship revenue, delegate yield, abstract and paper submissions and overall audience size, at the same time increasing Net Promoter Score (NPS) by 16 points.
The decision to move to a new venue in an out-of-town location was always a risk for such an established event, but it proved to be inspired and Twickenham Stadium became a feature in itself, allowing stadium tours and pitch-side networking.
Inspired by the success of Turbo 18 the team have launched an APAC geo-clone in Singapore – the first time the IMechE has undertaken such a project, and the Institution’s first international launch in living memory.
UK Gift Card & Voucher Association – UK Gift Card & Voucher Association Conference
The UK Gift Card and Voucher Association (UKGCVA) conference aims to inform, educate and inspire with a range of topics including online shopping and marketing trends as well as legal/VAT updates to raise the profile and educate around gift cards. We engage keynote speakers from outside of the industry to talk about key retail trends whilst relating back to gift cards, plus useful consumer research and a white paper to engage the c-suite. The goal is to provide inspiration, innovation, best practice and new ideas to help advance the industry – as well as the very best networking opportunities.
In 2015, the association was losing members, becoming less relevant and meetings were not providing enough content. The new Director General, Gail Cohen came in and Natasha Russell was brought on board to help organise the conference, an annual event open to members and non-members. Over the past three years the conference has been overhauled, introducing a new format and more polished event that has grown and attracted international speakers, delegates and sponsorship. It is now the flagship industry event, for UK and overseas Gift card professionals and a key event for the association in terms of revenue and membership benefits.
