Criticaleye – Criticaleye CFO Retreat
In 2017, Criticaleye held its first Retreat for Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and finance leaders. Following huge demand from this section of our Membership Community for a conference dedicated to the challenges and topics impacting on their roles, we decided to add the CFO Retreat to our annual Retreat series which includes our HR Director Retreat, our Private Equity Retreat, our CEO Retreat, our Asia Leadership Retreat and our Non-executive Director Retreat.
We are a Membership Community for C-suite executives and leadership teams. Criticaleye inspires leaders to succeed via the content of our Retreats around an in-depth understanding of the challenges organisations and leadership teams are facing. Partners and speakers were selected on the basis of their contribution and value to delegates, and attendees were all leaders and academics from leading businesses and institutions.
Energy Live News – Energy Live Future
Delegates were in for an out of this world experience at the Energy Live Future (https://www.energylivenews.com/eln_event/energy-live-future/) event, which attracted more than 250 people with £2 billion worth of energy spend.
The part expo, part laboratory and part conference event covered everything from solar panels in space, internet of things, disruptive technologies, blockchains, virtual reality and electric vehicles. Other sessions included Energy Tech Tinder, Disrupt the Energy Market and Far Out Energy, which were also fully subscribed.
The futuristic event at the National Space Centre in Leicester attracted large energy users, with around £2 billion of energy spend. Delegates said the event was inspirational, exciting and excellent, with some planning to trial products showcased to help reduce energy costs.
One of the delegates said: “I love the Energy Live News ethos. I love the sense of humour that’s there and understanding that we don’t have to be totally serious even when we are serious about business.”
Another added: “I’ve seen lots of wonderful products that I’m hoping to trial that will save us lots of energy.” Other delegates said it was “excellent”, “inspirational” and enjoyed finding out about new technologies.

Global Business Club (GBC) – Downstream Tatarstan
The aim of the inaugural Downstream Tatarstan conference was to showcase high potential of the downstream sector in the region and to offer great business matchmaking opportunities between regional project owners and leading international technology suppliers.
Bringing together more than 290 delegates from all over the world, the conference has put regional trends into international context and brought the latest worldwide expertise to this rapidly developing region.
Despite economic instability and the sanctions imposed on Russia, GBC Ltd managed organise a top-level event which is now recognised by the industry, has the full support of the local government and most importantly, has a great future.
KnowNow – Keeping Crime Out of Gambling and Social Responsibility for Gambling Operators
KnowNow Ltd ‘s first event was a two day smash hit for senior managers and those working in compliance and player protection in the gambling industry. Gambling is a sector going through fundamental change and tightening of regulation. The KnowNow event succeeded in bringing together operators, regulators, charities helping with gambling related harm and leading researchers. They explored all of the key issues and made sure there were plenty of practical takeaways.
This was not just a launch event, it was the very first event for this organisation who believe in promoting ethics in the gambling industry. It really established KnowNow as a player in the gambling community.
Keeping Crime out of Gambling and Social Responsibility for Gambling Operators was two days of interesting content designed to help the sector continue to boom commercially whilst taking player protection to the next level. Feedback from delegates was that this is exactly what they need at exactly the right time.

The AI Congress was a highly innovative and extremely successful event launch that made use of an iconic venue, top-level content, multiple feature areas, plentiful networking sessions, powerful décor and an abundance of entertainment.

On the day, quotes, images and video were published on Qubist’s own tool giving the audience relevant, quality content to share to their own networks. This supported 150 delegates to engage on social media, leading to 1,366 Twitter endorsements and a 6-hour trending hashtag. A diverse delegate list, structured networking, live illustrator and interactive environment delivered overwhelmingly positive feedback.
