Dr Fiona Watson is Founder and Managing Director of Afion Media Ltd, an award-winning global scientific and technology conference and events management business. Afion specialises in developing events for organisations that want to work on a global stage in the nexus between government, NGOs and the private sector.
Since founding Afion in 2006, Fiona has worked with blue-chip and government clients to deliver a portfolio of high technology conferences, including the Abu Dhabi government’s World Future Energy Summit, where she was Conference Director for five years. From 2014-2018, she was the Executive Director of the UK National Member Committee of the World Energy Council where she developed a passion for tackling climate change.
Prior to founding Afion, Fiona was Publisher at Elsevier Ltd, where she was responsible for growing a portfolio of Advanced Technology publications and conferences.
Fiona holds a PhD from Imperial College London, and a BSc in from the University of Leeds.
