BOROUGH BENCH MEDIA – OPEN BANKING EXPO
Open Banking Expo is the UK’s largest Open Banking conference. In its second year it grew from an audience of 300 to 520, bringing together c-level executives from banking, fintech and policy maker spheres.
It is unique in its approach; unlike competing events that focus on how Open Banking can be used to make more profit, Open Banking Expo is the first event to utilise Open Banking as a force for good. To support our ethos, we donated a percentage of our ticket sales to charity.
To drive success, Open Banking Expo has developed a close community with industry pioneers across the broad Open Banking eco-system. This has enabled the event to offer exclusive content, speakers unseen on other conference agendas, and a 365 platform the industry can harness to collaborate, share ideas and do deals.

ENGAGE BUSINESS MEDIA – CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT SUMMIT 2019
Now in its tenth year, the Customer Engagement Summit is the largest event of its kind in Europe – but scale isn’t all that makes this event truly unique. Unlike other conferences in this space, the CES believes that customer AND employee engagement are mutually dependent, and gives each topic equal status at the event. Through continued innovation, the development of the conference has seen a YOY average increase in turnover of 14%, a 36.2% increase in profit and 95% of delegates agreeing that the CES armed them with actionable insights, with 82% of delegates stating that they have made three or more changes to their CX strategies in the 6 months post-event. By establishing a conference that acknowledges all aspects of engagement, by providing a world-class experience, and by delivering real-world, case-study-led content that arms delegates with applicable knowledge, it’s no surprise that in ten years the CES has grown from 200 to 1,000+ attendees.

EVENTCITY AND TRAVEL COUNSELLORS – TRAVEL COUNSELLORS 25TH ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE
Last November, EventCity, the largest, conference, exhibition and multi-purpose venue in the North, played host to the Travel Counsellors 25th Conference. Bringing together the company’s global network of franchisees, the two-day event saw 1,967 delegates from all over the world come together for a weekend of celebrations, including a glittering Gala Dinner, Awards Ceremony, and world-class entertainment. Situated in the heart of TraffordCity and on the doorstep of Travel Counsellors’ Headquarters, the venue offered a perfect location for the company’s anniversary, and felt like ‘coming home’ to where it all began.
With an overarching theme of ‘Moments that Matter’, the annual event delivered business strategy and updates, intertwined with motivation and inspiration. Coined ‘the best conference ever’ in company history, it also featured a wellness garden, motivational speeches from the likes of Olympic Champion Nicola Adams and adventurer Bear Grylls, and a performance from Gary Barlow.

FAVERSHAM HOUSE – SUSTAINABILITY LEADERS FORUM
Just as the past 12 months marked a critical inflection point in capitalism’s battle against climate change, edie’s Sustainability Leaders Forum underwent a radical transformation of its own.
This is the story of how a small-but-mighty team turned a one-day conference into a two-day, interactive and immersive experience which achieved its highest ever net-promoter score of +25 (an increase of +9 from 2019), along with a 114% increase in delegates since 2017 – making this Faversham House’s most successful event, ever.
The success story was fuelled by a ‘shoot-for-the-moon’ team philosophy and a laser-like focus on what we wanted to achieve. Our mission was to grow delegate revenue by 72% and sponsorship revenue by 9.5%. But beyond the numbers, we wanted to deliver a confex experience which inspired, informed and empowered global business leaders to be bold and take new sustainability actions to achieve a low-carbon, resource-efficient future.

INTUIT – QUICKBOOKS CONNECT LONDON 2019
If a friend eagerly suggests, ‘let’s go to an accounting conference!’, you’d probably take one look at them and run a mile.
Accounting can be dry and (we’ll admit it) a bit boring.
So, how do we make it fun and engaging whilst building our brand?
This was the challenge we, Intuit (QuickBooks), tackled in order to engage/activate our audience through a large-scale annual event. We also needed to deliver the event with a 15% budget reduction, smaller venue and we needed to outperform our two previous annual events!
Amazingly we succeeded. With the help of Event Concept, we delivered an innovative, creative, human experience smashing all our objectives and more.
Our secret? In a nutshell…
-Extensive pre-event research with actual customers.
-Exciting, engaging experiences.
-Immersive technology.
-Competitive, exciting hackathon.
-Unique and inspirational Main Stage speakers e.g. Brian Cox/Sarah Beeny.
-Dedicated team of social warriors capturing/collating/editing material at breakneck speed.
-Partnering with a parkour specialist who filmed the quickest/most exciting route to QBC.
Our goal was to build the QuickBooks brand, increasing last year’s NPS score of 47. We achieved a score of 61; +30% increase! What’s more, 90% of attendees said they’d be likely to attend next year’s conference.

OCEAN MEDIA – HOUSING 2019
Housing is the Chartered Institute of Housing’s annual event and Europe’s largest housing festival, taking place annually in June.
Housing is not a talking shop, it is a strategic event that enables the whole sector to regroup to help improve our tenants lives. Working alongside government it aims to influence their policies around social housing, homelessness, welfare reform, supply of genuinely affordable housing, placemaking and design quality. Whilst it is a basic human right to have an adequate home and standard of living we aim to do far more than the day job.
To ensure we meet these needs our strategy is multifaceted.
By creating a festival around the most important issues we face together we delivered these stats in 2019:-

SEVENEVENTS – UK PARTNER CONFERENCE
After taking part in a rigorous tender process, we were appointed by Sophos to manage the end to end delivery of their UK Partner Conference. This annual event brings together Sophos customers and prospects for a two day event, aimed to deliver both networking opportunities and education on products.
The two day conference was based at the Victoria Warehouse, a unique blank canvas venue. This was a perfect backdrop for the branding exposure required and had multiple areas and spaces to allow for main plenary, 4 breakouts and still a large space for catering and networking. Guests were split across the four hotels based on client category and exec level.
The event kicked off with an opening session at the Victoria Warehouse, before guests headed off to the Imperial War Museum for the welcome reception. This was then followed by a full day conference and party, where the plenary space was transformed complete with a laser quest dome, LED ping pong, street food, cocktail bar and showstopping LED drummers performance.

SNEAKY EXPERIENCE – SQLBITS
SQLBits is that rare thing – a conference that doesn’t feel like a conference.
Forget never-ending PowerPoints, dry lectures, sponsored workshops or predictable catering, this UK-based event has grown from an industry secret to a dynamic global phenomenon.
Created by data professionals for data professionals, it’s a conference designed and delivered by the UK Data community it aims to serve.
Unlike other conferences, it’s friendly and fun – with education, knowledge sharing and community at its core.
Its small team of volunteers deliver the event around their own full-time jobs. They share a big vision and boundless ambition – and it shows.
Since its inception in 2007, SQLBits has become the largest data conference in the world; providing delegates with access to the sector’s best experts and thinkers – including those behind the Microsoft Data Platform.
It’s THE place to discuss best practice, explore/develop original ideas and enjoy informal networking.
As a not-for-profit event, it’s affordable too, designed to be inclusive and accessible to everyone from senior executives to new entrants.
In 2019, 2,500 of these delegates came to enjoy more than 300 sessions over five days – making it the best value for money conference around.

VET DYNAMICS – STAYING INDEPENDENT: THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED
The theme for the 2019 Vet Dynamics Conference was; Staying Independent – The Road Less Travelled. This 3-day residential event was held against the backdrop of corporate investment activity which, in recent years, had led to over 60% of Veterinary Practices in the UK ‘becoming corporate’.
With Independent Practices now in the minority, the important thing for Vet Dynamics was that Independence doesn’t become the lesser option for our Vet’s clients and their employees.
Created for and with the Vet community, we built a programme of inspiration, connection and celebration to equip and motivate our community to excel and thrive. World class speakers, classroom activities and high energy interactive lectures mixed with plenty of entertainment & fun was a winning formula!

The Sustainability Award

BUSINESS DESIGN CENTRE – PROUDLY CARBON NEUTRAL FOR TEN YEARS
Although the Business Design Centre (BDC) has been a Carbon Neutral venue for ten years now, the last 12 – 18 months has seen an increased focus on that which makes it environmentally conscious and sustainable. As well as a programme of initiatives that demonstrate a commitment to ‘doing the right thing’, the BDC has also taken its operations to the next level in sourcing products that close the loop in their use. The venue has been contributing zero to landfill for many years and is now proudly run on 100% renewable resources. Through partnerships with our suppliers, partners, the local community and charities, the BDC is contributing to many of the UN’s Sustainable Development goals and is continuing this work into the coming year.

CAVENDISH VENUES – CAVENDISH CONFERENCE CENTRE
Sustainability is integral to Cavendish Conference Centres business and has been for many many years. This has been recognised by a host of clients, recent examples include; The Green Party, The Green Alliance, Greenpeace, The UK Green Building Council, The Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity, The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association, The Sustainable Restaurant Association, The Waste and Action Recycling Plan (WRAP) etc.
We are proud of the market leading initiatives we have taken big and small and will continue to take. Be it an innovative tree planting programme or redesigning our food stations to reduce food waste. For many years building sustainability into the venue and the wider community has been as important as profit. This is reflected in our purchasing policy document, which defines how all purchases of over £500 have to be made, sustainability is the most important criteria, within defined criteria the second is cost. We know that sustainability can never be achieved, we will continually push to come as close as possible.

LEGACY EVENTS GROUP LTD – WHOLE COMPANY INITIATIVE
Legacy was established as a sustainable events agency and consultancy in 2016, to help companies run events that are better for the environment and for the communities that they are held in. LIME VENUE PORTFOLIO – BEYOND FOOD CAMPAIGN
Beyond Food was an initiative created by Lime Venue Portfolio and is already changing the way the meetings and events industry looks at food at events.
The digital report is made up of six chapters, each taking on a different angle on food and events, from food waste to mental health, from sustainability to what the menu of the future will look like.
The report is not just a promotional vehicle for the brand, it’s an open source information piece, accessible by anyone working in the events industry; from bookers to venues, caterers to delegates. It is an investigation into the relationship between food, the environment, events, and the people we cater for every day. Within the report, there is empirical evidence, opinion from both within and outside of the industry, and statistical information, all bought together using editorial, video and infographic.
This is a report that goes Beyond Food.

ROYAL COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS – MEETINGS & EVENTS
The Royal College of Physicians (RCP) is 500 years old and currently in its fifth home since 1965. This iconic grade 1 listed modern building overlooking Regent’s Park, houses an award-winning conference and events centre.
We are the first and only royal college to achieve The Carbon Trust Standard which is the world’s leading independent certification of an organisation’s achievements in reducing environmental impact. We also hold ISO 14001 standard certification for environmental best practice.
Sustainability is a key part of our everyday operations across all areas of the business including catering, waste management and energy. Our strategic objective in 2019 was to look at all areas of our business to ensure all of our suppliers and service partners are environmentally conscious and committed to helping to improve our waste streams and lowering our carbon footprint substantially in the next three years. We are constantly striving to minimise our impact on the environment and coming up with innovative ways of doing so.

WELLCOME COLLECTION – WINNOW
Wellcome Collection is museum and library for the incurably curious which brings together science, medicine and art. The venue offers visitors contemporary and historic exhibitions and collections, lively public events and first-class conference facilities. Wellcome Collection was established by the Wellcome Trust, an independent charitable foundation dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health.
Since its launch in 2007, Wellcome Collection has become one of London’s most exciting event venue’s due to its constant innovation and focus on sustainability and CSR.
Located in central London and being an extension of the primary business, Wellcome Trust, Wellcome Collection has to ensure environmental responsibilities are met and as such, have implemented a number of initiatives.
One such initiative is Winnow, introduced to the venue in 2017. Winnow is an electronic measuring system for food waste, which weighs and records all discarded food products to maximise efficiency.

Overseas Conference of the Year

CAMPDEN WEALTH – SAUDI ARABIAN FAMILY ENTERPRISE CONFERENCE (SAFE) 2020
Recognising the sweeping transformative changes taking place in KSA in lieu of Vision 2030 and lack of global participation in the local market, Campden Wealth set out to launch our first event to take place in KSA; The Saudi Arabian Family Enterprise Initiative (“SAFE 2020”). Bringing together the most prominent families and wealth holders in the heart of the biggest economy in the Middle East, this endeavour would:
• Cement Campden as the leading player in the region.
• Engage more of the Saudi wealth community.
• Better address the key macro issues in KSA which have a ripple effect throughout the region and indeed globally.
Campden Wealth worked with leading government divisions, corporations and organisations to ensure complete immersion and attendee experience.
Alongside industry leading content, attendees had access to the PGA Saudi International Golf Open and a tour to Al Ula, the world heritage site not yet open to tourists.
The event overachieved on every facet:
• Number of attendees: +27% over target
• Sponsorship: +39.5% over target
• Costs: +135% under budget
• Profit: +70% over target
• 96% approval rating from attendees

CONTENTIVE – HRD SUMMIT/US
HRD Summit/US was created as a geo-clone of the successful HRD series, which has in prior years been focused in Europe.
The Summit took place in a highly saturated and competitive market, and our focus was on establishing a firm proposition in this new market. We achieved this by focusing on the most valuable parts of our proposition, and enhancing them to differentiate ourselves within the market and delight customers on both sides.
HRD Summit/US delivered 320 delegates to the inaugural event, exceeding our seniority target by achieving 79% C-Suite and C-Suite minus one. The NPS of our intimate roadshow series broke all companies records ranging from +69 – +100 for these five pre-Summit events.
The NPS for the Summit was +35 for delegates and +15 for sponsors, again exceeding our original targets in both areas. Feedback included: “Just wow! This event was truly inspiring and will change my career”.

DMG EVENTS – GASTECH EXHIBITION & CONFERENCE 2019
Established over 45 years ago Gastech has established itself as the definitive global event for the gas, LNG and energy industry, attracting Heads of State, Ministers, Government Officials and C-suite executives. Gastech covers the entire energy value chain with senior representatives from all the major national oil companies, independent oil and gas companies, as well as strategic and technical experts from the entire energy supply chain. With gas and LNG poised to play a pivotal role in the transition to a clean energy mix, Gastech plays a vital role in the battle against climate change.

HYVE GROUP – AFRICA OIL WEEK
With revenue increasing by a whopping 70% in the past 2 years, Africa Oil Week is a brand with over 26 years of heritage, but with its focus firmly on the future. In 2019, AOW made some significant changes to reflect the priorities of its existing customer base, and to attract a wider selection of delegates than ever before.
New content streams included the South Africa Showcase, dedicated to the hydrocarbon potential and energy future of our host country, and the Future Technology & Innovation Forum, a platform for oilfield service providers, EPCs and technology providers to discuss pioneering technologies which are increasing efficiency and reducing cost in the sector.
Driving government attendance was another priority for 2019, with the newly formed government relations team beating previous records and securing the attendance of 26 ministers and government leaders. Ministers and other VIPs (including senior representatives from 6 supermajors – BP, Chevron, ExxonMobil, ENI, Shell and Total) were treated to a tailored programme, including a Symposium and Gala Dinner and a personalised meetings schedule.
We are proud to say that AOW has cemented its position as the must-attend “Davos style” industry event of its kind.

INFLOW SUMMITS – INFLOW SUMMITS & MEET-UPS
The most influential and biggest event through the INFLOW Summits’ history created an interactive gathering for effective cooperation between global brands and leading influencers of the digital universe.
In addition to the conference, special get togethers, different experiences, B2I meetings, marketing activities and most importantly creating unforgettable memories gathered with INFLOW Global Summit and Awards’19 in one of the most beautiful cities, Istanbul.

RISK.NET – RISK USA
Risk USA’s 25th anniversary event was an exercise in delivering quality content, a fantastic onsite experience, and growth in all areas (sponsorship, audience and gross profit). The event was developed very closely with Risk.net’s editorial team and has since become a leading product of the Risk Events portfolio. For an established conference, the team set a very ambitious sponsorship revenue growth target, which we exceeded by £50,000. We also aimed to invest in the onsite experience and provided a myriad of new features. All of this was achieved whilst ensuring gross profit was protected. Not only did we achieve the GP target, but we also exceeded that goal by 20%. Testimonials from speakers, sponsors and attendees alike were glowing, and are a real testament to the success of this event.

TEN6 CREATIVE – XPERIENCE ’19
When CX giants Genesys approached TEN6 Creative to once again bring their
annual convention to life, the brief was simple: create the customer experience event
of the year. With this partnership now entering its fourth year, TEN6 brought a wealth
of knowledge and understanding of both Genesys and the wider industry allowing
them to successfully devise a brand-new format for the event, including reaching a
record-breaking global audience through live-streaming for the first time.
With Genesys customers, partners and employees gathering for educational
sessions, sponsorship exhibitions, networking activities and a jam-packed general
session agenda in Denver, Colorado, TEN6 was tasked to deliver four days of
impactful, memorable experiences in line with the Genesys brand and values. The
result was Xperience 2019, their most engaging and immersive event to-date.

THE OIL & GAS COUNCIL – CLARION EVENTS – THE MSGBC BASIN SUMMIT & EXHIBITION
The 4th Annual MSGBC Basin Summit & Exhibition took place in January 2020 in Dakar. Since 2016, the Oil & Gas Council has promoted the region and the development of its nascent oil & gas industry through its partnership with Senegal’s National Oil Company, PETROSEN, and the Ministry of Energy, by hosting the region’s only oil & gas event. This year, the event hit many major milestones, including hosting the President for the first time and surpassing its target by 35%.
2020 highlights included an unprecedentedly low 4% speaker drop-out rate across the whole event and a seamless onsite experience led to a very successful rebook strategy and a highly symbolic move from the King Fahd Hotel to the much larger CICAD convention centre in 2021. Another major goal was for the event to support in country capacity building. We thus offered 20 companies the opportunity to have “presence pods”, which would allow them to display their services without the high costs usually associated with a stand. We also offered a highly discounted rate for local companies and the result was incredible: 55% of final paying attendees took advantage of the local rate compared to 37% in 2018.

Best Technology & Telecoms Event

ASCEND GLOBAL MEDIA – WOMEN OF SILICON ROUNDABOUT
Women of Silicon Roundabout recognised that there is a lack of diversity in business and that we could do something to change it. We set out to create something that would improve diversity and inclusion in business in a meaningful way. Now the event has exploded in popularity from 300 attendees in early 2016 to 6000 in 2019. It’s the largest tech event for women in the UK.

DRPG – BT CONSUMER LIVE 2019
Following the success of the BT Group’s Consumer division’s inaugural 2018 conference, DRPG were once again appointed to deliver Consumer Live for 2019 – the biggest face-to-face opportunity to bring together their three Consumer brands (BT Consumer, EE and Plusnet) to share stories, news and hear first-hand, future plans from their senior management team. Featuring the latest in 360-degree projection mapping for the main plenary and utilising five halls across the NEC Birmingham to create one large, spectacular single exhibition area hosting an impressive number of exhibitor activations from the world of telecommunications, communication and connective technology, the two-day event successfully supported the leadership team in delivering their messages and engaging their frontline colleagues and building excitement for the future.

GEORGE P. JOHNSON – CISCO LIVE 2019
Cisco Live 2019 – Reinforcing Cisco’s position as the leading IT Networking business in the world.
Part of a global series of 4 events Cisco Live EMEA is Cisco’s second largest market and fastest growing region. Creating an event for 15,900 people is no mean feat but as Cisco’s trusted partner on this event for 15 years George P. Johnson know their client and their audience inside out.
This year GPJ went above and beyond the clients targets by delivering a new vibrant interactive space called ‘The Playground’. Harnessing the power of the imagination to present brand and product stories in a way the target audience found involving and challenging.
The Playground at Cisco Live – A space, that for a moment took people away from the intense environment of seminars, breakouts and certification testing. A series of visual experiences and interactions, such as the ‘Game of Drones’, that challenged them to apply their technical skills and knowledge to code the flight path of a drone in a maze.
The result? A 12% increase in attendees, $50m defined sales opportunities and a 4.68 overall experience value from attendees out of a possible 5! We’d call that an outstanding success.

GOVNET COMMUNICATIONS – GOVERNMENT ICT 2020
The Government ICT Conference is an essential event in the calendar for senior technology leaders in the UK public sector. With a rich history spanning over 15 years, this event has served the government technology community with numerous announcements of new policy, waves of projects and digital strategies to help the public sector build technology into the delivery of exceptional public services.
Government ICT 2020 changed in its approach, scope and delivery, offering a wider variety of content & engagement with the tech community both pre- and post-show, elevating the brand to new heights.
The 2020 planning, research, content, marketing, sales and operations all had a part to play in the over-achievement of this year’s Government ICT. Delegate numbers surpassed our target by 16% while sponsorship revenue showed a year-on-year growth of 14%.

IFS – IFS WORLD CONFERENCE 2019
IFS World Conference (WoCo) is our flagship event. TAYLOR BENNETT PARTNERS – ADOBE SUMMIT 2019
No more digital marketing conference – TBP created a concept, from start to finish based on experience.
The focal point of the Summit Experience was TBP’s 500 m2 jellyfish combined with 84 DMX fans. Its graceful ebbing and flowing represented the user experience of the cloud. The delegate controlled the flow of air and light pattern by moving their hands through lasers connected to motion sensors, giving the user control of the cloud!
To help facilitate business, we had a VIP area within the Community Pavilion called the Customer Meeting Centre (CMC), where over 1000 meetings were held.
The CMC was also used for our executive dining experience, hosted by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton.
To create an additional area of interactivity we used a projection map to position a giant letter A. An anamorphic tool with a gyro within it enabled the projected ‘A’ to follow the movements of the user’s hand.
We hired speakers from Law, television, and film to discuss adapting to change and overcoming adversity. All sourced and booked by TBP, they included Amal Clooney, Eddie Redmayne, Edith Bowman, Emily Maitlis, Jack Whitehall and Jess Glynne.
Event coverage received 5.2 million views – 88% year-on-year increase.

Hilton London Bankside is a multi-award-winning five-star hotel in central London with 292 guest rooms. Despite only opening in October 2015, the hotel already has a reputation as one of the best in Europe for hosting events which is down to the high standards delivered by the Events Operations Team. The Operations team is one of the largest in the hotel, consisting of four Event bookers, four Event Planners, a Conference and Events Operations Manager, 2 Assistant Conference and Events Managers, a Beverage Manager, 2 floor managers, 4 porters, 6 waiters and approximately 40-80 temporary staff, depending on the size of the event taking place. Over the past year alone, the hotel has held 531 events and a total of 67,097 covers. This included 44 repeat events.
The team work like a well-oiled machine from the first enquiry until the post-event feedback interview, both with organisers and each other. Their diligence with running through schedules and changes, as well as knowledge-sharing and communication with each other (e.g. menu tastings and how long it takes for certain set-ups) allows them to better guide organisers to create successful events which is why so many of them come back to Hilton Bankside.

But the team’s success didn’t just stop there, taking home five prestigious accolades and gaining 92% customer satisfaction, all of which recognised the team for going above and beyond!
Manchester Central recognises the importance of providing opportunities to support the growth and success of its team members and has continually encouraged the team to embark on ongoing opportunities for professional development.

ONE GREAT GEORGE STREET – OPERATIONS
The Operations team at One Great George street includes 35 individuals (excluding agency staff required on as ad-hoc basis). The team is full of long-standing members and collectively the team have worked together for a whopping 75 years!
One of the team’s greatest successes was working on the Global Engineering Congress. This is a week-long event that also encompasses several related events simultaneously. The events included the main conference, lectures, Gala & private dinners & receptions. There were 450 individual attendees to cater to on every day of the congress.
One Great George Street is committed to sustainable practices; therefore, we made the switch from disposable catering equipment to recyclable versions, including straws, napkins and takeaway containers to name a few. We also work with First Mile who recycle our food waste, which is then used to generate renewable energy. As a team & venue we take the professional & personal development of staff very seriously. Best Operations Team – Events

ASCEND GLOBAL MEDIA– OPERATIONS TEAM
In 2019, the operations team had a year to remember. It delivered the company’s largest event of the year, project-managed a new registration CRM and WinTechSeries app, and introduced Professional Matchmaking at events.
But in everything the team did, it succeeded. Its commitment to excellence and constant improvement was plain to see in the exceptional on-site experiences that it delivered, its diligent and effective management of sponsors, exhibitors and budgets, and the huge success of the WinTechSeries app in particular.
The team also ensured that the first ever ‘AfterParty’ was a hit with attendees to the WinTech series, and negotiated effectively with suppliers throughout the year in order to bring down costs while bringing up quality. The team’s success came about not just because of its conscientious approach, but because of the genuine pride its members take in the work they do every day.

BANKS SADLER – IBM EVENTS TEAM
The Banks Sadler IBM Events Team run a wide variety of demanding events across the year, from c-suite level conferences, tech focused educational events through to incentives. In 2019, the team delivered 15 events for IBM, ranging in size from 10 – 2,000, taking the team across the globe, from Bali to Milan, India to Melbourne. Due to the nature of IBM’s business, the events can be significantly challenging, involve substantial levels of security and require the team to engage with high-level leadership on a continual basis.

CAMPDEN WEALTH – EVENTS TEAM
Campden Wealth run events for ultra-high-net-worth individuals whose family businesses have a minimum annual wealth of £100M+. Due to the nature of the community, the team work to ensure a high quality level of service is delivered across Campden’s events.
The team have collaboratively run over 20 events in the last year in 6 different countries (England, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi). The operations team saved 63% of an event budget in London from November 2019. The most successful launch event due to cost savings, Saudi Arabia Family Enterprise Initiative (SAFE 2020), managed to get the Venue and all AV (including LED wall and stage and operations) free of charge through strong negotiations.
The team work towards creating a more sustainable, seamless experience and maintain personable, long-lasting relationships meanwhile utilising technology to keep events exciting and refreshed within this sector.

Known for creating inspiring and award-winning events, from conferences and roadshows through to product launches, exhibitions, venue sourcing and incentives trips. DRPG’s dedicated in-house operations team use the latest technology and DRPG’s purpose-built production facilities to deliver outstanding events every year. Collaborative in our approach, our team provide the best solutions for our clients to creatively connect with audiences, create engaging experiences and lasting impact that truly deliver against objectives and beyond.

ENGAGE BUSINESS MEDIA – MARKETING AND EDITORIAL TEAM – OPERATIONS
Despite being described as a ‘boutique’ events company (which is a polite way of saying ‘small’), the operations team at Engage Business Media continually punches well above its weight-class to deliver ten high-quality events each year which our delegates agree are a cut above those offered by much larger events companies. With just six members of the operations and logistics team, the ground-breaking events delivered demonstrate the excellence, organisation and efficiency of the team. Our achievements include growing our portfolio of events from 2 conferences and 5 small forum meetings in 2015 collectively welcoming 800 delegates to 10 events collectively welcoming 5,600 delegates in 2020, with average delegate satisfaction scores of 90%. We have also seen turnover increase by 279% since 2015, with a YOY growth of 61.8%. So, if EBM is David and the large corporate events companies are Goliaths, then we can rightly call ourselves ‘giant killers’. As well as delivering a best-in-class service, we are also doing this with a tenth of the budget and a team of just six individuals.

HGA – EVENTS
Manchester-based Events Agency HGA have been delivering the UK’s best events for more than 30 years. With outstanding in-house skills and technical resources, their passionate team of Event Producers, AV Technicians, Digital Developers, Designers and Video Producers all work together under one roof. This year they celebrated their milestone 30th birthday and 55% growth with more new clients than ever before.
A prime example of this dedicated teamwork in action is the epic eight-day conference and product launch they produced for chemical giant, BASF. With over 1,000 pieces of kit including a full-scale working barn, two tractors and an 80ft, 3-tonne, curved LED screen this was an ambitious event that had a big impact on delegates. An immersive conference full of engaging content, we had elaborate sets and creative breakout spaces tied into the chemical and farming themes, one of which was even rigged with indoor rain special effects. HGA also built a bespoke cocktail making app as part of the evening entertainment to wow guests with the chance to craft and taste their own creations.
The creative thinking, and imaginative engineering HGA created a living, breathing event that has since been rolled out across the whole of Europe.

PAGEANT MEDIA – OPERATIONS TEAM
As the team is split over two locations, strong communication is key. We use Slack and weekly video conferences to bring everyone together to discuss live issues and share new ideas. We split larger projects into elements for multiple team members to work on in order to give them exposure to different types of work, meaning that more junior coordinators get first hand experience of managing complex events early in their careers. The team are also targeted on attending each other’s events to build their onsite experience and learn best practice.
Earlier this year, we identified and introduced ten key competencies to provide clear progression paths for all the team, and we operate bi-annual reviews with clear objective setting to help keep things on track. Individual team members are also given the flexibility to focus on areas that are of interest to them – we have two event managers who specialise in venue sourcing, and three who are becoming experts in sustainability.

SLEEK EVENTS
Sleek Events is unique in the way the business has grown purely by word of mouth and referrals. It is our relationships with clients and excellent reputation in the industry that has enabled Sleek Events’ development and growth. Recently, we were named as #19 on the 2019 Virgin Atlantic Sunday Times Fast Track 100 as one of Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing sales, as well as being named in M&IT’s 20 event agencies to watch out for in 2020.

WILMINGTON HEALTHCARE – HSJ EVENTS AND EDUCATION
The event operations team understand the importance of continuous improvements and saw tangible results in 2019 events. Embracing change, viewing this as an opportunity to grow and improve both individually and at event level. They are mindful of the effects events have on the planet creating a sustainability policy that has impacted positively how they deliver their events. Their negotiation, organisation and budget management are skills that they demonstrate daily. The team ethos is keeping the customer at the heart of all decisions made to ensure that they deliver relevant, engaging events for all our customers, which was achieved in 2019.

CAMPDEN WEALTH – SAUDI ARABIAN FAMILY ENTERPRISE CONFERENCE (SAFE) 2020
Recognising the sweeping transformative changes taking place in KSA in lieu of Vision 2030 and lack of global participation in the local market, Campden Wealth set out to launch our first event to take place in KSA; The Saudi Arabian Family Enterprise Initiative (“SAFE 2020”). Bringing together the most prominent families and wealth holders in the heart of the biggest economy in the Middle East, this endeavour would:

COGMENTUM EVENTS – FUTURENET WORLD
FutureNet World is an exciting new telecoms industry event that was launched in London, 25-26 March 2019. The key to success was to create an event with a clear point of difference to the many other events in a congested market. We spotted that there were a number of trends and factors that were colliding to create a perfect storm, and the industry had reached a tipping point which FutureNet World tackled head on. Centred on the theme ‘Network Automation and AI’, we created the industry’s first event focused exclusively on this important topic. With the support of a highly engaged advisory board of industry influencers, and the endorsement and support of key industry organisations, FutureNet World attracted a global audience of senior executives from the CIO and the CTO office of major telcos. Bellwether sponsors included Huawei, Ciena, Nokia, HPE, Netcracker and B-Yond and feedback can be summarised by the words of one of our partners: “FutureNet World is a very relevant event because it is different from the majority of events in this industry, it was a pleasure to participate in your event. I must say it was a fresh breeze in the crowded space of telecom events.”

DENNIS PUBLISHING – MONEY WEEK WEALTH SUMMIT
The launch of the first Money Week Wealth Summit by the Dennis Marketing & Events Team not only brought together the magazine’s core audience, but also exceeded all targets.
Event attendance was 41% above target.
Profit for the event was 93% up on the budgeted figure

EG – FUTURE FEMALE LEADERS
A lack of visible women in real estate is not breaking news and the industry is acutely aware of its
need to re-balance, to seek a wider, more diverse range of views and opinions, and to hear different voices. Which is why EG launched its Future Female Leaders programme, an industry-wide collaboration to address this need.
These 12 women readily admitted that at their first training session they were terrified standing up in front of each other to talk about themselves for two minutes. Then they stood up in front of hundreds of people in a packed auditorium and delivered 10-minute speeches with no notes. No cards with prompts on. No PowerPoint presentation with presenter notes on.
They stood up, just them with bright lights shining in their faces, and delivered 12 of the most powerful, funny, educational, important and heartfelt speeches to a massive crowd. And they all nailed it. It was a truly exceptional event.
Through the unique programme, future female leaders from across the built environment have learnt new skills in communication and presentation, helping them become engaging, powerful speakers.

GOVERNMENT EVENTS – COMBATTING GANGS, VIOLENCE AND WEAPON CRIME
Government Events is one of the UK’s fastest growing events companies, specialising in delivering information-driven public sector conferences and events at the forefront of Government policy. Their aim is to help attendees fulfil career goals in the public sector, through CPD.
The Combating Gangs, Violence and Weapon Crime Conference originated as the team identified from current affairs, news articles and government policy that gang and weapon crime is an increasingly prevalent and complex issue for the public sector to address.
This event smashed all targets exceeding the delegate target number of 60 by over 300%. Feedback for our on the day customer service at the conference, received 100% Excellent and Good responses.
Since the initial conference in December 2018, it has developed into a country-wide series.

GOVNET COMMUNICATIONS – GOVTECH 2019
The GovTech Conference, which took place on the 2nd October 2019, was among the first in its field to prepare the public sector for the next wave of emerging technology. Creating a space to define a new generation of government technology, GovTech brought together tech trailblazers and government officials to bridge the gap between policy and future-tech. We asked how the government can transform the relationship between citizen and state through harnessing 6 core technologies; 5G; AI; IoT and Big Data; Blockchain; Geospatial and Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
The event provided a space that encouraged collaboration across the public and private sector. It showcased in-depth case studies from both local and central government that demonstrated the use of tech like AI and RPA, as well as organisational culture shift. It displayed a new generation of government technology and will continue to do so with the wider uptake of emerging tech across the public sector.

RISK.NET – RISK LIVE
Risk Live was designed as a pioneering festival of ideas, bringing together revolutionary thinkers from across the entire capital markets ecosystem. The event was developed very closely with Risk.net’s editorial and marketing services teams and has since become a leading product of the Risk Events portfolio. Speakers were genuine pioneers in their field, and shared exclusive research with our audience in addition to cutting edge insight from the editorial desk’s suggested topics, the global advisory board of leading experts were instrumental in researching and developing the agenda. To create a ‘festival of risk’ rather than another ‘old-school conference’ and make the event experience fun, dynamic and engaging, we introduced moved topics between stages and content zones, so throughout the day delegates were moving between rooms and always had the choice of at least three different sessions to join. For a launch event, the team set a very ambitious sponsorship revenue target which was exceeded by more than 33%. A runaway success.

Bearded Kitten helped Kingfisher launch their new brand ‘GoodHome’ with experiences in both London Olympia and Paris. The events previewed GoodHome products in an innovative way, launching the brand to UK and French markets in an immersive and interactive home improvement extravaganza!
We designed and built a DIY nightmares experience, a room all about happiness, a giant pavilion just for kitchens, 8 product pods, a plenary space and an example express store and showcased over 1000 products in true Bearded Kitten style…twice!

DATA PROTECTION WORLD FORUM LTD – PRIVSEC
PrivSec Conference London welcomed over 2,000 delegates to the QEII Conference Centre, Westminster, London on 4th & 5th February 2020.
The conference addressed the challenges and issues data protection, privacy, security and governance professionals around the globe are facing day-to-day.
PrivSec was born due to two of any organisation’s most important functions – privacy and security – working in silos. While on paper, privacy and security go hand in hand, our research had shown that in many organisations, communication between these two departments was poor or negligible.
PrivSec set out to achieve bringing these two departments closer together, while including governance professionals in the conversation.
PrivSec brings together subject matter experts from both sides, and develops an agenda which addresses the most pressing issues and challenges that professionals within the space are facing on a daily basis.
The target of the conference was to give professionals the opportunity to access actionable and practical advice and guidance that they can implement in their own day-to-day roles, while also outlining the route to bringing data protection, privacy, security and governance closer together.

The plan was for their People Managers to go from a culture of telling, to one of inspiring and truly become ‘Specialists in People’. DRPG worked with the Partnerships’ L&D teams to create an event to deliver an experiential and immersive experience where colleagues from all areas of the business could learn and collaborate, developing on their leadership skills in real time, and with real outcomes and positive impact.

MAD//FEST LONDON – MAD//FEST LONDON
MAD//Fest London is winning hearts, minds and clients in the marketing festival space with a unique invite-only audience-first model, focus on creating immersive experiences, and ability to deliver cutting-edge content from global brands and challenger brands.
The 2019 event showed that it’s possible to deliver exceptional revenue and visitor growth, a premium audience at scale, an impressive NPS score of +43 by re-thinking the industry event experience and adding innovation and creativity to it.
MAD//Fest has sold out of SPEX inventory and tickets. In 2019, it attracted high profile sponsors and exhibitors including Google, Snapchat, Amazon, Tik Tok and Twitch.
Innovation plays a big part of the MAD//Fest experience and attendees in 2019 were able to enjoy a range of immersive experiences and participate in £20k live innovation challenges from Diageo and Avon.

The Women of Silicon Roundabout Conference recognised there was a lack of diversity in business and that we could do something to change it. This year GPJ went above and beyond the clients targets by delivering a new vibrant interactive space called ‘The Playground’. Harnessing the power of the imagination to present brand and product stories in a way the target audience found involving and challenging.
The Playground at Cisco Live – A space, that for a moment took people away from the intense environment of seminars, breakouts and certification testing. A series of visual experiences and interactions, such as the ‘Game of Drones’, that challenged them to apply their technical skills and knowledge to code the flight path of a drone in a maze.

When CX giants Genesys approached TEN6 Creative to once again bring their annual convention to life, the brief was simple: create the customer experience event of the year. With this partnership now entering its fourth year, TEN6 brought a wealth of knowledge and understanding of both Genesys and the wider industry allowing them to successfully devise a brand-new format for the event, including reaching a record-breaking global audience through live-streaming for the first time.
With Genesys customers, partners and employees gathering for educational sessions, sponsorship exhibitions, networking activities and a jam-packed general session agenda in Denver, Colorado, TEN6 was tasked to deliver four days of impactful, memorable experiences in line with the Genesys brand and values.
